How to install flashing around a power line or a water line that goes through the roof.

We start by installing the shingles as high as we can, all the way up to the power line. Then we wrap water shield around the line making sure that the water shield laps on top of the shingles below. Next, we make two identical plates with a slit so that you can slide it around the line. The first one the slit needs to go up hill the next one the slit goes downhill. Always make sure that everything always laps on top of the shingle below so if and when water gets in that area it is forced back on top of the shingles averting a possible leak.

This is the finished product and what we would like to see. We leave a water way around the line so that water does not get forced or trapped under the shingles it goes around. A water way is so water has a way around the object.
